Official Rules HOLY_BIBLE Conference
HOLY_BIBLE (C)Copyright 1988-93 Steve Winter, All rights reserved worldwide.
HOLY_BIBLE and all other echo conferences (and their names) originated
by Steve Winter are (c)1988-1993 Steve Winter and the PreRapture(tm)
Network with all rights reserved without diminishing the rights of all
authors to their posting. Permission is granted to cross post from this echo.
Because of some individuals abusing this echo and trying to disrupt any
serious Bible study, these rules now take the place of any moderator
"warnings". Anyone breaking these rules will now be considered as having
allready been warned. Due to the cost of international distribution,
off-topic and obviously deliberate disruptive posts will result in immediate
forfeit of echo access as will replys/protests to administrative messages.
It is also the policy of the moderators to file official policy 4 complaints
against those SysOps who deliberately attempt to disrupt the echo.
We have a trinity of Co-moderators, they are:
John Nash 1:227/150, Glenn Ritter 1:3628/1 and Eddy Bal 2:292/866
1. All advertisments and announcements etc MUST be submitted to the
moderator prior to public posting. Those acceptable will be publically
posted by being forwarded in the echo *by* the moderator.
2. Absolutely NO profanity whatsoever will be tolerated, none, nil, zero,
notta! Even Biblical words missused as ephithets will not be tolerated,
not even once. (and no second chances)
3. In case of variations between translations, the KJV will have the final
say (though I know of no notable contradictions). A look to the original
language definitions are, of course, acceptable. Quotes from Cult re-writes
of the Bible are NOT permitted in the echo (like the NWT, etc.)
4. Points of doctrine *MUST* be documented by actual Bible verses.
5. Historical documents, referrences, and delvings in to Greek and Hebrew
etc... are occasionally acceptable if not excessively lengthy.
6. English is the official language of the conference.
7. This is a "One God" Apostolic Christian Conference, all are welcome.
8. Administrative problems, complaints, rules questions, etc *MUST* be
handled PRIVATELY by sending netmail to:
Steve Winter at 1:18/98@fidonet or 98:98/1@prime,
John Nash at 1:227/150@fidonet or 98:200/1@prime,
Glenn Ritter at 1:3628/1@fidonet or 98:100/1@prime,
Eddy Bal at 2:292/866@fidonet or 98:2200/1@prime.
9. SysOps agree to NEVER delete any message from this echo, except for
blatant profanity, lewdness, or a message by a barred individual or system.
This of course does not refer to normal purging of old messages.
10. This Echo is REAL TRUE NAMES Only, no exceptions.
11. Any network gating must first have prior approval from the moderator.
12. No "encrypted" or "encoded" messages are allowed.
13. BBS SysOps agree to provide access to HOLY_BIBLE to all of their
general BBS membership (excluding, of course, any user who has been
officially barred from the echo). This *is* a definite requirement.
14. Any SysOp that drops HOLY_BIBLE because of a disagreement or is cut for
a rule violation may not be allowed to re-access the echo as a user. (This
rule is to prevent a SysOp who is unable to prevail in a debate, from
dropping HOLY_BIBLE to hide the debate from his users, and then coming back
on HOLY_BIBLE as a user to disrupt the echo or to continue to use the echo
to further his views. In other words, wanting all the echo users to see
his views and opinions, but not wanting his users to see opposing views and
opinions expressed by others on the echo.)
15. All SysOps must immediately remove the access of any user to the
HOLY_BIBLE conference upon notification from the moderator(s) that that
user has been barred from the echo.
16. The moderator reserves the right to bar any user that he has
determined to be engaged in purposely disruptive, distructive behaviour in
the echo. It is one thing to contend for a viewpoint or to disagree or
even argue in an echo; it is quite another to purposely disrupt an echo.
Examples of such behaviour include (but are not limited to), bombing of the
echo (multiple copies of identical posts in the echo posted at the same
time), profanity with a few letters blocked, excessive flaming and
re-quoting (in obvious attempt to "flood" the network, make normal
conversation difficult, and raise phone bills), posting of third party
"tracts" (not self-authored) without prior approval of the moderator.
17. Deliberate over-quoting is considered disruptive annoying behaviour.
18. False christian (like CRI) and other cult tracts like those of
Jehovah's witness (so called), mormon, bahai, RCC and similar cults are NOT
allowed in the echo. (unless the moderator chooses (in ADVANCE) to make
an exception)
